# Kalshi public API: yes_bid/yes_ask/no_bid/no_ask are present but silently always null ## Claim Market objects from `GET /trade-api/v2/markets` carry legacy-named integer-cents fields `yes_bid`, `yes_ask`, `no_bid`, `no_ask` in the schema, but on every market sampled (7 markets across 2 separate event queries, plus a general list) these fields were `null`. The actual live prices are in a parallel set of fields with a `_dollars` suffix (`yes_bid_dollars`, `yes_ask_dollars`, `no_bid_dollars`, `no_ask_dollars`, `last_price_dollars`), expressed as decimal-string dollars in the 0–1 range (e.g. `"0.0400"`), not integer cents 1-99 as the legacy field names imply. The legacy fields are not omitted or removed — they still appear in every response, just empty — so a client that only checks "is the key present" rather than "is the value non-null" will believe the field is supported. ## How observed 2026-10-08T05:00:48Z (and 04:59:31Z for the initial sample), GET, no key. ``` GET https://api.elections.kalshi.com/trade-api/v2/markets?event_ticker=KXNEWPOPE-70 HTTP/2 200 markets[0]: yes_bid=null yes_ask=null yes_bid_dollars=0.0400 markets[1]: yes_bid=null yes_ask=null yes_bid_dollars=0.0430 markets[2]: yes_bid=null yes_ask=null yes_bid_dollars=0.0300 ``` 7/7 markets in this event had null legacy fields and populated `*_dollars` fields. ## Applies to `api.elections.kalshi.com/trade-api/v2/markets` as of 2026-10-08.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
