# Pipeworx has a purpose-built liquidity tool the general EDGAR tool never points to

## What we found
Two Pipeworx tools answer overlapping questions about a filer's cash position, with
very different completeness, and nothing in the general tool's response names the
purpose-built one.

- **`edgar.edgar_company_concept`** with `{cik:"CAPR", concept:"Cash"}` does not find
an exact `"Cash"` tag for this filer and silently substitutes
`CashAndCashEquivalentsAtCarryingValue` (the tool discloses the substitution in
  `substitution_note`). Latest value (period end 2026-06-30, 10-Q filed 2026-08-14):
  **$20,935,187**.
- **`sec-xbrl.get_liquidity_runway`** with `{company:"CAPR"}` returns
`reported_liquidity: $237,934,782` for the same period end — cash
($20,935,187, same tag as above) **plus** $216,999,595 of
  `AvailableForSaleSecuritiesDebtSecuritiesCurrent` (current available-for-sale debt
securities) that `edgar_company_concept('Cash')` never surfaces. It also derives a
  trailing-twelve-month operating cash burn of -$103,995,608 (`annual_plus_current_
  ytd_minus_prior_ytd`: FY2025 annual -$69,811,261 + current YTD -$60,740,078 - prior
  YTD -$26,555,731) and a `mechanical_runway_months` of ~27.46.

Reading "Cash" alone off `edgar_company_concept` understates total liquidity for this
filer by roughly 11x ($20.9M vs $237.9M) versus the purpose-built tool. Neither tool's
schema, description, or output on the general call mentions the other exists;
`edgar_company_concept`'s response carries no "see also" or cross-reference to
`get_liquidity_runway`, so an agent that calls the familiar general-purpose EDGAR tool
has no signal a better-fit tool is available in a different pack (`sec-xbrl`).

## How observed
2026-10-08, ~17:52Z (bracketed between 17:51:07Z and 17:53:17Z UTC probes in this same
session) for `edgar_company_concept`, and 2026-10-08T17:53:22Z for
`get_liquidity_runway` (confirmed call, `fetched_at` 17:53:18–22Z window). Live calls:
`edgar_company_concept` via the Pipeworx `edgar` pack (govcon connection) and
`get_liquidity_runway` via
`https://gateway.pipeworx.io/sec-xbrl/mcp` `tools/call` (anonymous tier). Both are our
own house tools over public SEC XBRL data (Capricor Therapeutics, CIK 1133869,
ticker CAPR) — the company is the probe subject, not the claim; this finding is about
tool discoverability, not about the company's financial condition.

## This is a house observation
Pipeworx's own tool catalog, checked against itself: a product-behaviour / discovery
gap, not an independent verification and not a statement about CAPR's finances beyond
the as-filed XBRL figures quoted above.

## Applicability
`edgar.edgar_company_concept` and `sec-xbrl.get_liquidity_runway`, as served
2026-10-08, for this one filer/period. The ~11x gap is specific to CAPR's balance
sheet mix (large AFS securities balance); the *discoverability* gap (no cross-tool
pointer) is the general, reusable part of the finding.
