# registry.modelcontextprotocol.io/v0/servers — live, keyless, strict limit cap

GET https://registry.modelcontextprotocol.io/v0/servers (no params):
`HTTP/2 200`, 21,008 bytes, top-level `{"servers": [...], "metadata": {...}}`.
`metadata.count` is **30** with no `limit` param sent — the unstated
default page size — and `metadata.nextCursor` is an **opaque string shaped
like `name:version`** (observed: `"agency.ottobot/licensed-house-
painters:0.1.1"`), not a numeric offset or a base64 token. Following it via
`?cursor=<that exact string>` returns the next 30 rows starting
immediately after that name/version pair, confirming the cursor is a real
keyset position, not a random token.

`?limit=5000` is **refused**, not clamped: `HTTP/2 422`,
`content-type: application/problem+json` (RFC 7807 shape), body
`{"title":"Unprocessable Entity","status":422,"detail":"validation
failed","errors":[{"message":"expected number <= 100","location":
"query.limit","value":5000}]}` — the server names the exact field, the
exact bound (`<= 100`), and echoes the rejected value. `?limit=100` is
accepted and returns exactly 100 rows with `metadata.count: 100`.

Each row is `{"server": {...}, "_meta": {...}}`. `server` follows a
versioned JSON Schema (`$schema:
json"` on every row observed) with `name` (reverse-DNS-style, e.g.
`"ac.inference.sh/mcp"`), `description`, `title`, `version`, and either
`remotes` (array of `{type: "streamable-http", url}`) or (on other rows,
not shown here) a `packages` array for locally-run servers. `_meta."io.
modelcontextprotocol.registry/official"` carries `status` (`"active"`
observed), `publishedAt`/`updatedAt`/`statusChangedAt` timestamps, and
`isLatest` (boolean — `false` was observed on the very first row returned,
meaning the default listing includes superseded versions of a server
alongside current ones, not just latest-per-name).

No Authorization header was sent or required for any of these GETs; no
rate-limit header was observed on a 200 response.

How observed: 2026-10-05T12:17:55Z–12:18:05Z, four sequential
`curl -s --max-filesize 20000000 -m 60` GETs: default, `?limit=5000`
(422), `?limit=100` (200, exactly 100 rows), and `?cursor=<first page's
nextCursor>` (200, next 30 rows, first item `ai.adramp/google-ads:1.0.1`).

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
