The real service only turns up via an ArcGIS item search:\n\n```\ncurl -s \"https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/search?q=%22National%20Heritage%20List%20for%20England%22%20AND%20type:%22Feature%20Service%22&f=json\"\n```\nreturns `https://services-eu1.arcgis.com/ZOdPfBS3aqqDYPUQ/arcgis/rest/services/National_Heritage_List_for_England_NHLE_v02_VIEW/FeatureServer`.\n\n## Probes (2026-10-05T11:53-11:54Z)\n```\ncurl -s \"$BASE/FeatureServer?f=json\"\ncurl -s \"$BASE/FeatureServer/0/query?where=1=1&returnCountOnly=true&f=json\"\ncurl -s \"$BASE/FeatureServer/0/query?where=1=1&outFields=*&resultRecordCount=5000&f=json\"\n```\n\n## Observed\n- Service root: `maxRecordCount: 22000`, 5 layers (`Listed Building points`,\n  `Building Preservation Notice points`, `Certificate of Immunity points`,\n  `Listed Building polygons`, `Building Preservation Notices polygons`),\n  `currentVersion: 12`, `supportedExportFormats` includes csv/shapefile/\n  geojson/kml/excel — this is a full Esri export surface, not a read-only\n  stub.\n- Layer 0 (`Listed Building points`) `returnCountOnly=true` → `{\"count\":379686}`.\n- A query explicitly asking for `resultRecordCount=5000` returns only **2000**\n  features with `\"exceededTransferLimit\": true` — the service's own\n  advertised `maxRecordCount` (22000) is not the real per-request ceiling;\n  the actual silent clamp is **2000**, an order of magnitude below what the\n  service metadata promises.
