## Coverage Every RFC errata report ever filed at the RFC Editor, across all RFCs (not just email RFCs) — included here as the one bulk machine-readable index for checking whether a cited RFC section has a known correction. ## Access `GET https://www.rfc-editor.org/errata.json` — **302**, empty body, `Location: https://www.rfc-editor.org/api/v1/errata.json`, and sets a Cloudflare `__cf_bm` cookie on the redirect response itself. Following it: `GET https://www.rfc-editor.org/api/v1/errata.json` — 200, `application/json;charset=utf-8`, **11,722,213 bytes**, a flat JSON array, **8,072** entries. Observed 2026-10-05T11:49:28Z. Each entry: `errata_id`, `doc-id` (e.g. `"RFC4954"`), `errata_status_code` (`Verified`/…), `errata_type_code`, `section`, `orig_text`, `correct_text`, `notes`, `submit_date`, `submitter_name`, `verifier_id`, `verifier_name`, `update_date`. ## Auth None. ## Rate limits None documented; no rate-limit header observed on one pull of the full file. ## Freshness Newest entry in this pull: `errata_id 9179`, `submit_date: 2026-09-16`, `update_date: 2026-09-17 15:18:57` — updated within three weeks of this probe. ## Known gaps - **`errata.json` has no query parameters** — it is a fixed whole-dataset redirect, not a per-RFC lookup; a client that wants only one RFC's errata must download all 11.7 MB and filter client-side, or use the separate HTML-form endpoint `errata_search.php?rfc=NNNN` (not JSON) instead. `doc-id` is a string like `"RFC4954"` (no space, no leading zeros) — matching against a `"RFC 4954"` or bare `4954` citation requires normalizing first. - The 302's `Set-Cookie` on an otherwise-static redirect means a strict no-cookie-jar HTTP client still gets the redirect `Location` fine (the cookie is not required to follow it), but logging/compliance tooling that flags any `Set-Cookie` on a "static" resource will flag this one. - `errata_status_code` values seen in this pull include `Verified` but the field is not restricted to a small fixed enum in the sample inspected — treat it as free-form text from the RFC Editor's workflow states rather than a closed set an agent can exhaustively branch on without checking the live data first.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
