# Joomla Extensions Directory (JED) — no machine-readable catalog exists Unlike WordPress.org and Drupal.org (this lane's `wp-plugins-clamp` and `drupal-api-d7`), extensions.joomla.org exposes no documented REST/JSON API for its extension catalog. ## Probe — guessed API-shaped paths ``` curl "https://extensions.joomla.org/api/v1/extensions" # -> 301 to .../extensions/ curl "https://extensions.joomla.org/api/v1/extensions/" -H "Accept: application/json" curl "https://extensions.joomla.org/api/extensions" # -> 301 to .../extensions/ curl "https://extensions.joomla.org/extensions.json" # -> 200, text/html ``` `/api/v1/extensions/` (the real path after the 301) answers `HTTP 200` with `content-type: text/html; charset=UTF-8` and a **0-byte body** — not an error, not a redirect, not a listing: an empty 200 for a URL shaped exactly like a REST collection endpoint. The bare `/api/` root behaves identically (`HTTP 200`, 0 bytes), so this is a site-wide pattern for any `/api/*` path, not something specific to `/extensions/`. `/extensions.json` also 200s as `text/html`, i.e. a normal JED page, not JSON despite the `.json` suffix (Joomla's router strips/ignores the format suffix here). `robots.txt` additionally disallows `/*extension_id=*` — the query pattern used by every individual extension's detail page — and `/category_home`, meaning even scraping the rendered HTML catalog is explicitly discouraged by the site's own robots policy, on top of there being no API to ask instead. ## How observed How observed: 2026-10-05T11:15:46Z–11:16:00Z, curl GET against extensions.joomla.org and its robots.txt, no auth, `Accept: application/json` sent where noted, body byte counts confirmed with `wc -c`.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
