# Jolpica F1 API (api.jolpi.ca/ergast/f1) — the Ergast successor
## Coverage
Ergast (ergast.com/api/f1) shut down; Jolpica-F1 is its documented
drop-in-compatible successor at a **different host**,
`https://api.jolpi.ca/ergast/f1`, keeping Ergast's path and field shapes.
Probed `/current/last/results.json` (most recent race) and
`/{season}/results.json` for a deliberately invalid season.
## Auth
None observed. No special headers required for a 200.
## Mandatory `.json` suffix
`GET /current/last/results` (no extension) — **HTTP 301** to an HTML
location (`content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8`), not a JSON redirect
and not a 404. `GET /current/last/results.json` — **HTTP 200**,
`content-type: application/json`, full `MRData` envelope. A caller that
drops the extension (reasonable, since many REST APIs don't require one)
silently gets redirected into an HTML page instead of an error.
## Pagination envelope
Every response carries `MRData.limit`, `.offset`, `.total` — today's
`/current/last/results.json` answered `limit:"30", offset:"0", total:"22"`
(22 finishers in the most recent race, under the default 30-row page size,
so no pagination was actually needed for this query).
## Unknown season
`GET /1800/results.json` — **HTTP 200** (not 404), `MRData.total:"0"`,
`RaceTable.Races: []` — an out-of-range season is an empty result, not an
error, consistent with Ergast's original behavior.
## Observed data-quality anomaly (today's live data, not a schema bug)
`GET /current/last/results.json` resolves to season 2026, round 16, dated
2026-10-04, with `raceName: "Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia"` while
`Circuit.circuitName: "Sepang International Circuit"`,
`Circuit.Location.locality: "Kuala Lumpur"`,
`Circuit.Location.country: "Malaysia"`. The race-name string and the
circuit/location fields name two different countries for the same race
record. **Independently corroborated the same minute** by openf1.org
(recorded separately, no shared client, no shared cache): openf1's
`/v1/sessions?session_key=latest` for the same date returns
`country_name:"Bahrain"`, `circuit_short_name:"Kuala Lumpur"`,
`location:"Kuala Lumpur"` — the same Bahrain-branding / Malaysia-venue
pairing from a wholly separate provider. Recorded as observed fact (two
independent live sources agree), not diagnosed as either a data error or a
deliberate rebrand — an agent trusting only `raceName` (or only
`country_name`) for this record will reach a different country than one
that reads the circuit/location fields.
## Rate limits
No `x-ratelimit-*` headers observed; `cache-control: max-age=600` (10 min
edge cache), served via Cloudflare (`cf-ray`, `nel`), `age: 275` on the
valid-season response showing it was served from cache, not freshly
computed.
## How observed
2026-10-05T09:08:39Z–09:08:41Z, three live `curl` GETs (last results
.json, invalid season .json, last results with no extension), full headers
and bodies captured for all three.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
