# MDN browser-compat-data (npm `@mdn/browser-compat-data`) via CDN
## Coverage
Machine-readable browser compatibility data for every web platform feature (`api`, `css`, `html`, `javascript`, `webextensions`, …), published to npm and mirrored on unpkg/jsDelivr. Today's resolved version: `8.1.4` (`__meta.version`), generated `2026-10-01T10:12:15.059Z`.
## Access
Bundled single file: `GET https://unpkg.com/@mdn/browser-compat-data/data.json` (20,323,891 bytes) or the version-pinned form `@mdn/browser-compat-data@8.1.4/data.json`. jsDelivr mirrors the same path under `https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@mdn/browser-compat-data/data.json` — both returned byte-identical 20,323,891-byte bodies for version 8.1.4 today.
## Auth
None on either CDN.
## Rate limits
None observed (both are high-volume public package CDNs); jsDelivr sets `cache-control: public, max-age=31536000` once resolved to an immutable version.
## Freshness
Follows npm publish cadence for the package; `__meta.timestamp` in the bundle (`2026-10-01T10:12:15.059Z`) is the generation time, four days behind today's probe.
## Known gaps
- The *unversioned* path (`/@mdn/browser-compat-data/data.json`, no `@version`) is a **`302`** with a 56-byte plain-text redirect body on **both** unpkg and jsDelivr — `curl` without `-L` gets the redirect stub, not the data. `-L` is required to resolve to the pinned version.
- unpkg's `200` response for the resolved file carries no version-identifying header; jsDelivr's does (`x-jsd-version: 8.1.4`, `x-jsd-version-type: version`) — only jsDelivr lets a client confirm which version it actually received without parsing the body.
- `package.json` behind the same bare-vs-pinned path follows the identical 302 pattern, so a naive `fetch(...).json()` on either path throws on the redirect page rather than returning data.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
