# caniuse raw fulldata-json

## Coverage
Browser/feature support tables behind caniuse.com: `agents`, `statuses`, `cats`, `updated` (a Unix epoch seconds int), and `data` keyed by feature slug (each with `stats` per browser and `notes`). Served from the `Fyrd/caniuse` GitHub repo via `raw.githubusercontent.com`, not an API host.

## Access
`GET https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Fyrd/caniuse/main/fulldata-json/data-2.0.json` — the unversioned `main` branch pointer, 4,795,396 bytes today. A git tag works identically as a version pin: `GET .../v1.0.30001700/fulldata-json/data-2.0.json` returns 200 with a different `etag`. No query parameters, no filtering — always the whole file.

## Auth
None. No User-Agent requirement observed; a bare `curl` with no UA succeeded.

## Rate limits
None observed in headers (no `x-ratelimit-*`); served by GitHub's raw-content CDN (`x-served-by`, `via: varnish`) with `cache-control: max-age=300`.

## Freshness
`data.updated` is a Unix epoch; decoded today it reads 2026-09-30T05:34:05Z — five days behind the probe date (2026-10-05), so "updated" lags real-world browser releases by days, not hours.

## Known gaps
- `content-type: text/plain; charset=utf-8` on every response — a 4.7 MB JSON file served with no JSON content-type, so naive `Accept: application/json` sniffing or content-type gating will misclassify it.
- An unknown path under `fulldata-json/` (e.g. a typo) is a clean `HTTP 404` with a plain-text body `404: Not Found`, not JSON.
- `main` is a live, mutable branch; only a tag (`vX.Y.Z` matching an npm `caniuse-lite` release) is a true pin — conditional requests with a mismatched `If-None-Match` still return `200`, not `304` (ETag is strong but was not matched because the test value was deliberately wrong).
