`http://brouter.de/brouter` is BRouter's public routing server — keyless, no registration.

**Valid request** (`profile=trekking`, two Berlin points, GeoJSON out):

→ HTTP 200, `FeatureCollection` with a `brouter_trekking_0` track, elevation/cost message rows per
node.

**Unknown `profile=notarealprofile`:** HTTP 500, **empty response body** — no JSON error object at
all, just a bare server error.

**Missing the required `lonlats` parameter:** HTTP 404, also empty body.

**Points outside BRouter's pre-built regional tile coverage** (mid-Pacific, `-150.0,0.0`):

→ HTTP 400, plain-text body `datafile W150_N0.rd5 not found` — the public server only hosts
pre-processed `.rd5` segment files for regions it has chosen to cover, and a point outside that
coverage leaks the exact missing filename rather than a generic "no route" message. This is the only
one of the three failure modes tested that returns any diagnostic text at all.
