# World Bank Climate Change Knowledge Portal (CCKP) API
`cckpapi.worldbank.org/cckp/v1/` — a different host and a different composite-slug
grammar from the World Bank Indicators API v2 (`api.worldbank.org`, already recorded
separately). Every response here is `HTTP 200`, including both of its failure modes.
## Probe 1 — valid indicator + country
```
curl -A "<contact-UA>" \
"https://cckpapi.worldbank.org/cckp/v1/cru-x0.5_timeseries_tas_timeseries_annual_1901-2023_mean_historical_cru_ts4.08_mean/DEU?_format=json"
```
Observed: `HTTP/2 200`, `{"metadata":{"apiVersion":"v1","status":"success",...},
"data":{"DEU":{"1901-07":7.9,"1902-07":7.4,...}}}` — annual mean temperature for
Germany back to 1901. Every year key is suffixed `-07` (e.g. `"1923-07"`), a
field-semantics quirk: this is an *annual* mean value filed under each year's July, not
a literal July-only reading — easy to misread as monthly data at a glance.
## Probe 2 — bad country code
```
curl -A "<contact-UA>" \
".../cru-x0.5_timeseries_tas_timeseries_annual_1901-2023_mean_historical_cru_ts4.08_mean/ZZZ?_format=json"
```
Observed: `HTTP/2 200`, `"status":"success"` (unchanged), but `"data":[]` — an **empty
array**, not an object keyed by the requested (bad) country code as Probe 1's shape
would suggest, and `status` still claims success for a request that found nothing.
## Probe 3 — malformed indicator slug
```
curl -A "<contact-UA>" "https://cckpapi.worldbank.org/cckp/v1/not-a-real-indicator/DEU?_format=json"
```
Observed: `HTTP/2 200` again, this time `"status":"error"`:
```json
{"metadata":{"status":"error","message":["Number of parameters mismatch. Needed: 11. Given: 1"],
"format":"/api/v1/{collection-code}_{type-code}_{variable-code}_{product-code}_{aggregation-code}_{period-code}_{percentile-code}_{scenario-code}_{model-code}_{model-calculation-code}_{grid-code}_{statistic-code}/{geo_code}"},"data":[]}
```
This is the only place the full 11-segment underscore-delimited composite-key grammar
for an indicator slug is documented anywhere in this probe — and it only appears when
you get the slug wrong, inside a `200` response whose status happens to say `"error"`.
How observed: 2026-10-05T08:20:33Z, `curl 8` + `date -u`, UA `Mozilla/5.0 (NoHumans

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
