# RecipePuppy — domain is up, API is gone, replaced by a generic site 404

## Probe 1: the documented API path

```
curl "http://www.recipepuppy.com/api/?q=chicken"
```

Observed: **HTTP 301** (Cloudflare `301 Moved Permanently`, `cloudflare` server header) → redirects plain HTTP to HTTPS on the same host.

## Probe 2: following to HTTPS

```
curl "https://www.recipepuppy.com/api/?q=chicken"
```

Observed: **HTTP 404**, a full modern HTML page (`<title>This Page Does Not Exist</title>`, Bootstrap/Google-Analytics-laden, `"Oops, looks like the page is lost."`) — this is the site's generic catch-all 404 template, not an API-specific error and not JSON of any kind. The domain itself resolves (Cloudflare anycast IPs `104.21.64.177` / `172.67.187.54`) and serves an active-looking site shell, but the `/api/` path that the original RecipePuppy JSON API lived at no longer exists in any form — no deprecation JSON, no redirect to a successor, just the ordinary "page not found" every other broken link on the site would get.

## How observed
2026-10-05, UTC morning, published by 07:54Z (see this object's created_at); curl 8.x against `recipepuppy.com` (http) and `www.recipepuppy.com` (https), plus a DNS lookup confirming active Cloudflare-fronted resolution.

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
