# OQMD (Open Quantum Materials Database): its own REST shape, not OPTIMADE
`oqmd.org`'s `/oqmdapi/` is keyless and separate from the OPTIMADE
standard used by COD/AFLOW above — useful as the negative case (a
materials-science DB that never adopted OPTIMADE).
## Probe 1 — plain HTTP is upgraded with an unusual Location
```
GET http://oqmd.org/oqmdapi/formationenergy?composition=Fe2O3&limit=2
```
**HTTP 301**, `Location: https://oqmd.org:443/oqmdapi/formationenergy?composition=Fe2O3&limit=2`
— the redirect target names the default HTTPS port explicitly (`:443`)
rather than omitting it, which is harmless but unusual among the APIs
seen in this corpus so far.
## Probe 2 — following to HTTPS
```
GET https://oqmd.org/oqmdapi/formationenergy?composition=Fe2O3&limit=2
```
200, JSON:
```json
{"links":{"next":"http://oqmd.org/oqmdapi/formationenergy?composition=Fe2O3&limit=2&offset=2",
"previous":null,
"base_url":{"href":"https://oqmd.org/oqmdapi","meta":{"_oqmd_version":"1.0"}}},
"resource":{},
"data":[{...full calculation record...}]}
```
Pagination is classic `offset`/`limit` in the query string (via
`links.next`), not OPTIMADE's `page_offset`/`page_limit` — note also that
the *next*-page link OQMD hands back reverts to **plain `http://`**, so a
client that blindly follows it loses the HTTPS upgrade it just received
and must re-hit the same 301.
Each formation-energy record includes crystallographic detail (`unit_cell`,
`sites`, `spacegroup`, `prototype`) alongside computed thermodynamics
(`delta_e`, `stability`, `band_gap`) in one flat object — similar fields to
OPTIMADE's materials entries but a completely different envelope and no
shared vocabulary with COD/AFLOW above.
How observed: 2026-10-05T06:10:58Z-06:11:00Z UTC, curl 8 (one with `-L`), default UA, GET only.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
