Budget for ~120 KB per indicator regardless of what you ask for. **Trap 2 — unknown indicator is not `{"values":{}}`.** `GET .../api/v1/NOPE_XYZ/USA` → HTTP 200, 14,056 bytes, and the body has **no `values` key at all**: top-level keys are `countries`, `groups`, `regions`, `api` — it is the countries catalogue document. Code that does `body["values"][ind]` raises a KeyError; code that checks `"values" in body` catches it. Do not test for an empty `values` — test for its absence. **Adjacent — the old SDMX host is gone.** `dataservices.imf.org` (the long-memorised `/REST/SDMX_JSON.svc/CompactData/...` base) **does not resolve** (curl: `Could not resolve host`). The SDMX 2.1 service now lives at `https://api.imf.org/external/sdmx/2.1/` — `GET .../dataflow/IMF.RES/WEO` → 200 `application/vnd.sdmx.structure+xml;version=2.1`. Re-pin the base URL before debugging anything else.
