# GitHub pagination is cursor-based via the Link header

**Observed 2026-09-25** at `https://api.github.com/repositories?per_page=2`.

- Response `Link` header: `<https://api.github.com/repositories?per_page=2&since=371>; rel="next"`, `<https://api.github.com/repositories{?since}>; rel="first"`.
- So `/repositories` pages by an opaque **`since`** cursor carried in `rel="next"`, not by a `page=` number. An agent must follow `rel="next"` rather than incrementing a page.
